Michael Allen Ward , 70, of Minden, WV went to his eternal home on Friday, October 01, 2021, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Mike was greeted into Heaven by family, friends, and favorite pets, Mittens, Ziva, Fancy, Luna, Roger, and Pookie.
Born April 07, 1951, in Scarbro, WV he was the son of the late Floyd "Fuzzy" and Garnet Tompkins Ward.
Mike was a 1972 graduate of Collins High School. He worked for Coyne Textile for 32 years until he retired in 2014. He loved and cherished his family very much.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Raymond Ward.
Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving wife, Elizabeth Kay Ward; two sons, Wesley and Michael Ward both from Florida; two stepdaughters, Mary Ann (Jason) Mills of Shady Spring and Stephanie (Jonathan) Mulder from Virginia. Mike was a proud grandfather to three grandsons whom he loved very much, Jon Michael Cobb, Ethan Sumpter, and Maximus Ward; he also had a great granddaughter, Paisley Cobb. Also surviving are two brothers, Frank (Drema) Ward and Elvis (Bonnie) Ward; three loving sisters, Betty Craft, Connie (Randy) Berry from Oak Hill, and Nancy (Susie) Willoughby from SC and several nephews and nieces that Mike loved with all his heart. Special thanks to his niece, Karen (Richard) Wriston and nephew, Sonny (Debbie) Craft he loved you both and took you under his wings and treated you the same as his own children.
Mike has a lot of special friends that are too many to mention. Mike was always there when he was needed.
A celebration of Mike's life will be 2:00 PM Friday, October 8, 2021 at the Oak Hill Gospel Tabernacle on Oyler Avenue with Pastor Eric Smith officiating. Family are requesting you wear a mask before entering the church in an attempt to stop the spread of Covid 19.
Friends may visit one hour prior to service at the church tp help in Mike's celebration.
A dinner will be furnished by the church to family members following the service.
