Michael Bowlin Linkswiler Jr., 82, of Beckley, WV died on Friday, September 17, 2004 at Veterans Administration Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born July 26, 1922 at Gatewood, WV, he was the son of Ocie Garrett Taylor of Oak Hill, WV and the late Michael Bowlin Linkswiler, Sr. He was a retired coal miner for Westmoreland Coal Company and was a US Army veteran of World War II having attained the rank of staff sergeant. Member of the U.M.W.A. Preceded in death by his wife, Helen Louise Linkswiler. Survivors include his mother, Ocie Linkswiler Taylor of Oak Hill, eight sons, Jimmy Linkswiler and wife, Shelia of Mount Hope, Roger and wife, Kathy Linkswiler of Oak Hill, Fred and wife, Sue Linkswiler of Tuscaloosa, AL, Darrell and wife, Letha Linkswiler of Mount Hope, Terry Linkswiler of Morganfield, KY, Paul and wife, Linda Linkswiler of Martin, KY, Jerry and wife, Trish Linkswiler of Beckley, and Charles Linkswiler of Beckley; two sisters, Frances Marine of Fayetteville, and Edith Shock of Dunbar; thirteen granchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, September 20, at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with Rev. Robert Barley and Rev. Eddie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill with military rites by VFW Post #3110. Friends may call Sunday evening, September 19 from 6 until 9 PM.
