Michael Keith Dodd, 32, of Fort Lauderdale, FL formerly of Oak Hill, WV died on Monday, April 14, 2008 in Fort Lauderdale as a result of complications from injuries sustained in a 1995 fall from the New River Gorge Bridge Born March 10, 1976 at Beckley, WV he was the son of Reginald "Reggie" and Terri Chambers Dodd of Oak Hill. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Hill and attended a community church in Fort Lauderdale. Mike attended Oak Hill High School and was a 1994 graduate of Fayetteville High School. While in high school he participated in the football, baseball and basketball programs. He attended Concord College. His paternal grandfather, Ralph Dodd and maternal grandmother, Doris Chambers preceded him in death. In addition to his parents he is survived by a close friend, Erica Weber; a brother, Greg Dodd and his wife, Jackie of Oak Hill; paternal grandmother, Ida Dodd and maternal grandfather, Tom Chambers. Also surviving are four aunts, Gloria Wallace of California, Sue Corder and husband, Meade of Oak Hill, Polly Reynolds and husband, Louie of Fayetteville and Tammi Chambers of Oak Hill and by several cousins. Services will be on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 7:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Father Paul Yuenger officiating. Cremation will follow.
