Merle Ellis

A good mother and dedicated wife, Merle V. Ellis, 85, of Beckley, WV died on Saturday, October 04, 2003 at SunBridge Pine Lodge Care & Rehab in Beckley, WV following a long illness. Born July 18, 1918 at Crab Orchard, WV she was the daughter of the late Edgar Hurt and Rhetta Viola Propps. Mrs. Ellis was a member of the Stanaford Missionary Baptist Church, Stanaford. She had worked in the Dietary Department at Pine Lodge for 26 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thearn Eillis; five brothers and two sisters. Survivors include Sons: Thearn Ellis, Jr. of Beckley John Ellis and wife, Cheryle of Rougemont, NC Daughters: Pat Duncan and husband, Jerry of Beckley Drema Thompson of Houston, TX Brenda Morrison and husband, Rick of Beckley Barbara Milam and husband, Jack of Sophia Edie Timoszczuk and husband, Eddie of Tamarac, FL Grandchildren: Stephen Pack and wife, Dawn of Gastonia, NC; Lee Pack of Beckley; Natalie Ellis and Nicholas Ellis of Victorville, CA; Steven Rose, Jr. of Tamarac, FL; Ryan Ellis of Victorville, CA; Tara Caraccido and husband, Noah of Victorivlle, CA; Christina Richarson and husband, Josh of Coral Springs, FL; John Moore of Piney View; Brian Moore of Abingdon, VA; Kim Frye of Stanaford; Theresa Whittaker and husband George of Daniels; Jennifer Meadows and husband, Jeff of Crab Orchard; Michael Phillps of Hazelhurst, GA and Kristi Ward and husband, Ben of Stanaford; and by 12 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope on Monday, October 6, 2003 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Services will be on Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope in with Rev. Robert Barley officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley WV.
