Melvin "Sonny" Ellison

Melvin "Sonny" Lee Ellison, 63, of Whitsett, NC died on Wednesday, August 20, 2003 at his home following a long illness. Born August 07, 1940 at Oak Hill, WV he was the son of Ethel Marie Campbell Ellison of Oak Hill and the late Alvin Harrison Ellison. Mr. Ellison was a member of the Rock Creek Baptist Chruch, Whitsett, NC and was a self employed in automobile sales and service. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Ellison and a sister, Linda Silke. Survivors include his wife, Judith Layne Ellison Daughter: Teresa Jane Wykle of Garner, NC Son: Craig Lee Ellison of Whitsell, NC Sisters: Ruby Jean Rose of Germantown, MD Joetta Faye McBride of Germantown, MD Loretta June Archer of Waynesboro, VA Natella Gay Ellison of Whitsett, NC Judy Kay Helton of Kilsyth Brothers: Alvin H. Ellison of Oak Hill James Ray Ellison, Sr. of Oak Hill Charles Edward Ellison of Oak Hill Jennings Kent Ellison of Oak Hill Grandchildren: Ariel Louise Wykle and Cody Lee Ellison Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Saturday, August 23, 2003, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Services will be on Sunday, August 24, 2003, at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Allen Gallimore and Rev. Bill Menefee officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV.
