Mattie Louise Riser

Mattie Louise Rice Riser, 79, of Carlisle, WV died Friday, April 22, 2005, at her home. Born November 7, 1925 in Eastland, TN she was the daughter of the late James Mattison and Arizona Harrington Rice. Mrs. Riser was a retired postmistress. She attended the First Church of God at Carlisle, member of ZETA masters since 1967. She enjoyed going to church, fishing, bingo and driving her Harley Davidson truck. She was a loving mother and devoted wife. Preceded in death by her husband, James Wilbur Riser; four brothers, Hayden C., William J., Charles Casto and Thomas Rice; three sisters, Beatrice Seletyn, Lillie Saunders and Jessie Hamby. Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Stover and her husband, Ronald of Bradley; two sons, James W. Riser, Jr. and wife, Thelma Riser and Charles W. Riser and wife, Margot Riser, of Oak Hill; grand- children, Rebecca and Stuart Ferguson, James W. Riser III and Michelle Riser, Teresa Gosling, Charles E. Jr. and Stephanie Riser, Donna and Jack Carrington, Louis James and Angela Riser; 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Lois Virginia Blaschek of Lancing,TN; one brother, John Rice of Wartburg, TN. Service 1:00 PM Monday, April 25, 2005, at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, WV with Rev. Gene Bowen officiating. Entombment will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill. Friends may call from 6 until 8 PM Sunday, April 24, 2005, at the funeral home.
