Matthew Williams

Matthew Thomas Williams ,51, of Long Branch, WV passed away Sunday, August 05, 2012 at his home. Born July 23, 1961 at Miami, Florida, the youngest son of Billy Williams of Pax and the late Ida Faye Humphrey Williams. Matthew worked over 30 years in mining. He was employed at the Kingston #1 mine at Kingston, WV for the past 15 1/2 years. He loved his job and was very proud to work with all of the "Mighty Men of Kingston". Matthew loved his job, friends, church and family and enjoyed reading and going to church. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by an infant son. Those left to cherish the fond memories are his wife of 33 years, Connie Williams; his only daughter, Ashley Byers and husband, Royal; his father, Billy Williams; very special grandson, "Trey" Byers of Pax; one older brother, Carlos Williams of Pax and many very special brothers and sisters-in-law; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope, WV with Pastor Tom Lilly and Elder Thomas Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens,Prosperity. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, August 13, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 P. M. Pallbearers will be friends of Matthew.
