Mary E. Ripoll Thompson

Mary Elizabeth Ripoll Thompson, 85, of Ashland, KY died on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. Born August 05, 1923 at Lochgelly, WV she was the daughter of the late Vincente Casto and Elsie Fridley Ripoll. Mrs. Thompson was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Ashland, KY and a homemaker. She graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1941. Two brothers, Robert and John H. Ripoll and a sister, Dolores Davis preceded her in death. Survivors include husband of 63 years, Mote Thompson, Jr.; two sons, Tom Thompson and wife, Elizabeth of Long Boat Key, FL and Jeff Thompson and wife, Elisa of Minneapolis, MN; on sister, Paquita Sarver and husband, Kenny of Oak Hill and a brother, William Ripoll and wife, Marlene of Oak Hill. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Tanner, Tazio, Hayleigh and Torey Thompson. Services will be on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Jack Barker officiating. Entombment will be at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
