Mary Farthing Moran

Mary Elizabeth Farthing Moran , 89, of Sophia, WV died on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Harper Mills in Beckley, WV.
Born October 04, 1927 at Stotesbury, WV she was the daughter of the late Hubert Franklin and Rebecca Florence Herndon Farthing.
She retired from the Credit Bureau of Beckley. Mrs. Moran was a member of the Sophia First Baptist Church where she attended the Adult Sunday School class.
Her husband, George E. "Nub" Moran preceded her in death in 1983. Also preceding her were sister, Betty Johnson; and brothers, Gerald Blaine "Jerry" Farthing, Louis Dale "Sonny" Farthing and William J. "Bill" Farthing.
Mary leaves behind a devoted family which includes daughter, Marie A. Gibson of Midway; son, Michael E. Moran and wife, Rebecca, of Beckley; grandson, George Gibson and wife, Tina, of Crab Orchard; great grandchildren, Brian Gibson and wife, Andrea, of Sophia, and Tabetha Malholtra and husband, Vic, of Chattanooga, TN; and great great grandchildren, Braydon Gibson, Claire Marie Gibson and Colton Malholtra.
Also surviving are sisters, Margaret Moran of Sophia, Evelyn Jean Henderson of Sophia, Dorothy Beddingfield and husband, Bob, of Alabama, Linda Hill and husband, Steve, of South Carolina and Sharon Graziolli of Cleveland, OH; brothers, Hubert Franklin "Buddy" Farthing, Jr. and wife, Franchesa, of Nashville, TN and Robert "Bobby" Farthing and wife, Barbara, of Columbus, OH; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Services will be on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Sophia First Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Gilbert officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley, Friends may call from 12:00 Noon until service time on Tuesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Sophia First Baptist Church, PO Box 1133, Sophia, WV 25921, or Hospice of Southern West Virginia, PO Box 1472, Beckley WV 25802.
