Mary Lou Mitchell Addington

Mary Lou Mitchell Addington, age 80, of Hill Top, WV passed away on Friday, October 1, 2010 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV. Born July 26, 1930 at Thurmond, WV, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Rader Mitchell and the late Ida R. Stickler Mitchell Cunningham and step daughter of the late Howard W. Cunningham. Mary Lou was a retired school teacher having taught 6th grade in Kanawha County and also in Fayette County. She was a member of the Oak Hill United Methodist Church, former member of the Fayette Study Club, former member of the Spade and Trowel Garden Club and a graduate of Oak Hill High School. Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Gus N. Addington of Hill Top and her one brother, James Gwinn. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the Oak Hill United Methodist Church with Dr. Charles D. Miller officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum in Beckley. Friends may call at the Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill,from 6-8 P.M. on Monday, October 4, 2010. Men of the Oak Hill United Methodist Church will serve as pallbearers.
