Mary Aiello Mathys

Mary Aiello Mathys, 77, of Fayetteville, WV died on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV. Born July 21, 1930 at Gauley Bridge, WV she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret Walker Evans. Survivors include her companion of 28 years, Shad Dummitt; one daughter, Maria A. Epperly and husband, Jerry of Oak Hill and five stepchildren, Mark Portman of Atlanta, GA, Jim Mathys and wife, Martha of Knoxville, TN, Jean Mathys of Orlando, FL, Jane Van De Walker and husband, Wayne of Webster, FL and Judy Kowalik and husband, Dan of Leesburg, FL Five grandchildren, Brandon Aiello, Andrea Aiello, Kelly Epperly, Lindsey Epperly and Leah Epperly; five step grandchildren, Denise, Bill, Jeff, Justin and Josh and two great grandchildren, Blake and Kaden Aiello also survive. Mrs. Mathys was a member of the Kesler Memorial Presbyterian Church, Cliffty. She was a retired dental assistant. For many years Mary and Shad operated Shad's Restaurant in Fayetteville. She so enjoyed her family and friends. Her first husband, Joseph Aiello, second husband, William H."Bill" Mathys and a son, Thomas E. Aiello preceded her in death. Services will be on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Jim Dempsey officiating. Burial will be at Kesler Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery at Cliffty. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Friday, January 25, 2008 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
