Mary Clide Mankin

Mary Clide Mankin, 97, of Conway, SC formerly of Oak Hill, WV passed away at her home on Friday, July 17, 2009. Born September 5, 1911 at Oak Hill, WV, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Arkle and Mary Elsie Backus Mankin. She was a retired school teacher, member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church where she attended the Shirley Donnelly Bible Class; member of the West Virginia and Fayette County Retired Teachers Associations; former member of the Red Bud Garden Club and the Oak Hill Civic League. Mary was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Pearl Allen, Clarice McDonald, Nellie Simms, Mabel Ramey, and Opal Gilbert. She is survived by two nieces and four nephews. Graveside Rites will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill with Rev. William Slates officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
