Mary Evelyn Lopez

Mary Evelyn Lopez, 92, of Corinne, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley with her family by her side. 

Born May 18, 1932, at Bud, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Dana (Blankenship) Sizemore.

Mary was a Cook at the Stephenson Grade School for almost 30 years. After retiring, she became a full-time homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and quilt making. In addition, her passion for baking rolls, cakes, and her crafts delighted many on their special occasions. Her blackberry pies was a must at all holidays. During her membership at the Amigo Missionary Baptist Church, she taught Sunday School . While doing so, she made sure there were plenty of suckers available for her young students. 

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Lopez; daughters, Diana Ronewicz, Karen Smith, and Norma Cooper; grandson, Matthew Wrenn; brothers, Frank, Gideon, Charles, and Walter Sizemore; and sister, Virginia. 

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Sandra Belcher of Beckley, Mary Bishop of Corinne, and Regina Lester and husband, Timmy of Barkers Ridge; sons, Donnie Lopez of Beckley, Ronnie Lopez and his wife, Theresa of Corinne, and Jerry Lopez of New York; grandchildren, Regina Shea, Norman Kevin Moles, Becky Norris, Robin Hatcher, Anglea McCollum, Shelly Brown, Jeremy Smith, Kimberly Fox, Lisa Houck, Allona Tilley, Brianna Ellington, Samantha Miller, Dee Dee Lopez, Donnie, David Lopez, Ronnie Stewart, Tisha Vest, Ashley Loggins, Gary Church, Megan Lewis, Travis Lopez, and Tina Lopez; numerous great grandchildren; brothers, Robert Sizemore and his wife, Karen, of Perkins, GA, Ronnie Sizemore and his wife, Gladys of New Richmond; and sisters, Linda Bragg and her husband, Wilbert of Georgia and Edna of Huntington.   

Services will be 12 Noon, Friday, December 20, 2024 at the Mullens Family Worship Center, Mullens with Pastor John Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. 

Friends may call from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, December 19, 2024 at the church and one hour prior to services Friday at the church. 

Pallbearers will be Gary Church, Donnie, David Lopez, Ethan, Jeremy Tilly, and Mikey Smith.
