Mary Ellen Hicks Lafferty , 78, of Pax, WV died on Wednesday, September 03, 2014 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV following a long illness.
Born August 21, 1936 at McKendree Hospital near Prince, WV, she was the daughter of the late Aubrey and Dorothy Ingram Hicks.
She attended Packs Branch Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Her husband, Billie B. Lafferty preceded her in death on March 1, 2014.
Survivors include two daughters, Debra Lynn Pritt and husband, Gene of Scarbro and Mary Kaye Coll and husband, John of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Shane Pritt and wife, Anna, Jason Pritt and wife, Georgie, Lorraine Lafferty and Kendra Lafferty and two great grandchildren, Savannah Pritt and Kali Lafferty
Funeral services will be on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Pastor Sam Vance officiating. Burial will be at Willis Branch Cemetery, Willis Branch. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Missionary Fund at Packs Branch Baptist Church, 2343 Packs Branch Road, Mount Hope, WV 25880.
