Mary Campbell Dorton

Mary E. Campbell Dorton, 86, of Oak Hill, WV died on Wednesday, September 09, 2009 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV. Born July 15, 1923 at Stuart’s Draft, VA she was the daughter of the late Charles Mae and Ruth Elick Campbell. Mary was a well-known cook having worked at the Skyline Drive In at Hilltop for 30 years. Her husband, Douglas F. Dorton; daughter, Lisa Ann Dorton Pittman and three sisters, Beatrice Ditchcreek, Virginia Watkins and Margaret Henderson preceded her in death. Surviving are her daughter, Elizabeth Carol Straub and Philip of Bradley; one sister, Dorothy Fitzgerald of Waynesboro, VA and two brothers, Frank Campbell and wife, Margie of Waynesboro, VA and Charles Campbell and wife, Lupe’ of Brea, Calif. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Robert Gene Sheaves, Jr. of Bradley, Erica Kelly Farley of Bradley and Geoffrey Allen Pittman and wife, Amber Nicole of Fayetteville; four great grandchildren, Madelyn, Olivia, Malaquai and Kaesen and close friends, Liz Calvert and Athena Louisos. Services will be on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Phillip Fuller officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home on Saturday, September 12, 2009 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
