Mary Lucille Dempsey

Mary Lucille Dempsey, age 84, of Oak Hill, WV went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill after a long illness. Born June 7, 1924 at Graydon, WV, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Dorsey and Thelma Parker Dorsey Davis. Mrs. Dempsey was a homemaker and a member of the Gentry Baptist Church at Sanger, WV. She was preceded in death by her husband, Okey O. Dempsey and by one sister Lorraine Burgess. Surviving are her son, Henry E. “Eddie” Dempsey, Sr. and his wife Janie of Oak Hill; grandson, Henry E. “Hank” Dempsey, Jr. of Oak Hill; step grandchildren, Jimmy Smith and Carl Smith both of Oak Hill, Rebecca White of Charleston, WV; several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at the Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, WV with the Rev. Bill Drennen officiating. Entombment will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill. F riends may call at the funeral home Tuesday one hour prior to services.
