Mary Lou Ceprich Shanks

Mary Lou Ceprich Shanks , 82, of Oak Hill, WV died on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at James River Rehab. and Convalescent in Newport News, VA. Born June 13, 1929 at Whipple, WV she was the daughter of the late Louis and Mary Magdalene Alexknovitch Ceprich. She was a retired bank teller. Mrs. Shanks was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Oak Hill and was a 1947 graduate of Oak Hill High School. Her husband, Johnny Claire Shanks, a son, Johnny Claire Shanks, II on July 18, 2011, her brother, Louis Franklin Walter Ceprich and her sister, Rose Catherine Downing all preceded her in death. Survivors include daughter, Catherine Thomas and husband, Carlin of New Port News, VA, grandchildren, Carlin Thomas, Jr. and wife, Ashley of Gloucester, VA and Amie Verastek and husband, Chris of Hampton, VA, great grandsons, Christopher Verastek and Cannon Thomas, and great granddaughters, Destinee Thomas, Caitlyn Verastek, Lilly Thomas and Abby Thomas. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Oak Hill with Father Paul Yuenger officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill on Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM with Prayer Service at 6:00 PM.
