On Thursday, October 31, 2013, while surrounded by family and friends, the gates of Heaven swung open and the sweet, loving spirit of Mary Louise Evans peacefully entered in. Born June 04, 1944 at Oak Hill, WV she was the daughter of the late Carl Hobart and Rosie Della Campbell Burgess. She was a retired Housekeeper for Hilltop Nursing and Rehab Center. Mrs. Evans was a member of the Christian faith. The family would like to take this opportunity to express their appreciation to the staff of Bowers Hospice House. A sister, Sylvia Dufour and two brothers, Carlos Burgess and Alva Burgess preceded her in death. Mary is survived by a loving family which include her husband, Charles Eugene Evans; son, Charles E. Evans, Jr. and wife, Rebecca of Rainelle and three sisters, Betty Lee Shumaker of Fayetteville, Mona Eubanks of Ravenswood and Patricia Dufour of Ohio. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Chuck Evans, Travis Evans, Megan Evans and Cody Evans and great grandchildren, Cade Evans and Allie Rose Evans. Funeral services will be on Monday, November 4, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill. with Dave Butcher and Charles Shumaker officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Chuck Evans, Mike Bennett, Eric Harvey, Travis Evans, Dave Ruff, Chad Cogar and Tom Fox will serve as pallbearers.
