Mary Loving Allen

Mary Elizabeth Loving Allen, 85, of Harvey, WV died on Monday, April 27, 2009 at The Summit in Oak Hill, WV after a four-year illness. Born November 03, 1923 at Hilltop, WV she was the daughter of the late Virginia Grace Grimmett and Thomas Hazelwood Loving, Sr. Mrs. Allen was a member and former pianist of the Harvey United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Mary's caregivers at the Summit in Oak Hill and to the staff of Fresenius Medical Care Center of Fayetteville. Her husband, Harry Edward “Tinky” Allen; daughter, Susan Dian Allen Cottle and son-in-law, Clarence Richard “Rick” Cottle preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her brothers, James B. "Dick" Loving, Sr., William A. "Bill" Loving, Sr. and Thomas H. "Tom" Loving, Jr. and a sister, Margaret Hayes. Survivors include a brother, David Michael Loving and wife, Charlotte of Goochland, VA; sisters-in-law, Barbara Campbell and husband, Allan of St. Petersburg, FL, Ruth Loving of Beckley, Louise Loving of Sophia and Frances Loving of Toledo, OH and a brother-in-law, P.H. Haynes of Whitley City, KY; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and friends. Mary is also survived by special friends, Melanie Dragan of Thurmond, the Cottle families and Leonard and Mamie Thompson of Harvey. Services will be on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Pastor James P. Allen officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill.
