Mark Anthony Pino

Beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Mark Anthony Pino, of Oak Hill, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 17th, 2013 surrounded by loving family. The son of John and Mary Hayes Pino, Mark was born on November 3rd, 1960, in Oak Hill, West Virginia. He was a lifelong member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church where he participated fully in the sacraments. Mark attended SS. Peter & Paul’s Catholic School, graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1979, and attended West Virginia University and West Virginia Institute of Technology. A proficient brick mason, stonemason, an accomplished electrician, tile setter, carpenter, and drywall installer, Mark worked in general contracting at Pino Construction Company, alongside his father, uncles and brothers for many years. Together they crafted many beautiful homes, churches, government and commercial buildings in West Virginia and Virginia. A skilled builder in many facets of life and quite adept at other special trades, Mark’s work ethic ensured that the fruits of his labors will continue to benefit any who were recipients of his work. Mark was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Genevieve and Joe Hayes, his paternal grandparents, Santa and Pietro Pino, and his beloved work buddies, Uncle Frank Pino and Uncle Pat Pino. Mark is survived by his devoted wife of fifteen years, Jennifer Romage Pino, his loving daughters, Emma Raycher Pino and Molly Elizabeth Hayes Pino, and his dear parents John and Mary, all of Oak Hill, as well as his brothers, Steve (Cindy) Pino, Joe (Donna) Pino and Rick (Tracey) Pino, all of Oak Hill, as well sisters, Kathy (Gene) Glover of Sims, North Carolina, Cindy (Mark) White of Fayetteville, Terri (Bill) Light of Gatewood and Angie (Joe) Re of Fayetteville. Mark is also survived by many aunts and uncles, including two aunts, Betty Jo Hayes and Patricia Pino, who nurtured both him and his daughters. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Helen Romage of Mt. Hope, eight brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law and their spouses, who thought of him as a brother, a large number of cousins, twenty-one nieces, twenty nephews, fourteen great-nieces and nephews, many godchildren and numerous longtime friends. A gifted musician and composer, Mark left beautiful musical legacies for his wife and daughters, whose accomplishments were his source of unending joy. Mark had a quick wit and brilliant mind, and loved playing games, sports and other activities with Jenny, Emma, Molly, his parents and siblings, his extended family and friends. He was an avid golfer, talented horseshoe player, and an enthusiastic Mountaineer fan. The nicknames he gave to those he cherished and the practical jokes that delighted Mark, kept each person in his huge circle feeling as if he or she were truly his best friend. His gentle spirit made people seek to be near him; his sisters and brothers provided him loving care during his final weeks. At his request, Mark’s family and an amazing network of prayer groups offered hourly prayers for peace and healing through his last days. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church on Oyler Avenue in Oak Hill prior to visitation at 6:30- 9:30 p.m. on Friday, February 22nd, 2013. Father Paul Yuenger will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial for Mark at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013. Joe Pino, Steve Pino, Rick Pino, Corbin Tonelli, Alex White, Joe Re, Bill Light and Mark Romage will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill. In memory of Mark’s life, the family requests that those who love him give a smile and hug to someone.
