Mark E. Hurd

Our wonderful husband, father, son and brother, Mark Edward Hurd , 55, of Fayetteville, WV died on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV.
Born June 17, 1960 at Washington, D.C. he was the son of Jan Sizemore Hurd Lamm of Columbus, OH and the late James Ronnie Hurd.
He was a retired department manager for Kroger with 35 years service. He attended the Oak Hill United Methodist Church.
Mark was a 1978 graduate of Oak Hill and was a U.S. Navy veteran. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish.
A brother, Robert Keith "Robbie" Hurd preceded him in death.
In addition to his mother Jan, those left to cherish precious memories are his wife, Rebecca Ruth Brewer Hurd; daughter, Sarah Ruth Hurd and fiancee, Nicholas Williams of Grandview; son, James Michael Hurd of Fayetteville; sister, Kelly Neaurth and husband, Dave of Brockport, NY; brother, Brian Hurd and wife, Amy of Galloway, OH; his wonderfully supportive brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Debbie Brewer; and his mother-in-law, Lois Martin.
He is also survived by one niece and three nephews.
In accordance with his wishes, Mark was cremated. A memorial service will be on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Oak Hill United Methodist Church with Dr. Charles Miller and Dr. Sharon Miller officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather in the church fellowship hall following the service for a time of remembrance.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the
National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York NY 10016 or OHHS/CHS Alumni Association, Inc., PO Box 462, Oak Hill WV 25901.
