Marjorie Schapiro

Marjorie Arnold Schapiro, 85, of Mount Hope, WV died on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born November 25, 1921 at Skelton, WV she was the daughter of the late Denver and Lena Mae Bailey Arnold. Margie was a well known doll collector and antique dealer in Maryland and Fayette County, WV. She was loved and will be greatly missed by many friends in Mount Hope and her adopted family at Carpetbaggers in Oak Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Schapiro; a son, David Schapiro; sisters, Hester Burgess and Edith Roberts and a brother, Fred Arnold. Survivors include one son, Jeffrey Schapiro and wife Lori of St. Louis, MO; a daughter, Sue Gallagher and husband, Charlie of Lenni, PA; daughter-in-law, Darlene Schapiro of Reisterstown, MD; sisters, Ruby Wolfe of Seivering, FL and Doris Carlile of Madison, AL; several nieces and nephews including, Fred Arnold and wife, Barbara of Shady Spring, WV, Linda Arnold and husband, John Catselis of Charleston, WV and Paula Arnold and husband, Colin Matthews of Virginia City, MT; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Per her wishes, Mrs. Schapiro was cremated. A memorial service will be on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope with Rev. Ronnie Stapleton officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
