Marie Humphrey Billups

Marie E. Humphrey Billups, 95, of Pax, WV passed away Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley. Born February 9, 1915 at Pax, WV, she was the daughter of the late Emmett G. and Emma Lafferty Humphrey. Marie was a member of the Pax Church of God and the Willing Workers of the church; and formerly sang with the Pax Quartet. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Earl Billups; her son, Keith Billups; one granddaughter, Kathy Robertson Smith; seven brothers, Earl, Dove, Harry, Calvin, Claude, Shirley, and Reginald Humphrey; four sisters, Hila Boyd, Vivian Trent, Evelyn Morgan and Opal McCoubrey and by a son-in-law, Billy D. Tyree She is survived by her three daughters, Martha Collier of South Charleston, Faye Tyree of Prosperity, and Linda Robertson of Stone Mountain, GA; 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Mount Hope with Sister Barbara Dunbar officiating. Entombment will will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at Prosperity. Friends may call from 5-7 P.M. Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope.
