Margaret Hattie Wriston

Margaret Hattie Wriston, 96, of Mt. Hope, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at  Bowers Hospice House, Beckley.

Born November 26, 1926, at Helen, she was the daughter of the late Steve and Barbara (Androvich) Yurkovich.

Margaret was a homemaker, former employee of Mt. Hope Mini Mart, she loved all of her dogs that she had through out the years, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In her leisure she enjoyed tending to her flowers and garden.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Delmar Wriston; and her son, Steve G. Wriston; and four sisters, Anna Wiseman, Elizabeth Raycob, Helen Cales, and Mary Obucina.  

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Curtis T. Wriston of Duck, WV, Sandra Kay Hill and her husband, Richard of Hanover, VA, Marsha W. Stakes and her husband, Llew of Reedville, VA; daughter-in-law, Sue Wriston of Powhatan, VA; two granddaughters, Marsha Bonds and her husband, Ryan and their children, David and Katheryn and Dawn Atkins and her husband, Danny and their children, A.J., Savannah, Tristan, and Trace; three grandsons, Dewayne Wriston and his children Zachariah, Ashley, Rebecca, Robert Hill and his wife, Kim and their children, Reagan, Addison, and Ty and Aaron Stakes, three great great grandchildren, Anna, Finnagen and Sullivan; and her surviving fur babies, Abby and Hannah.

Graveside service and burial will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill with Pastor Greg Swisher officiating.

Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family expresses a heartfelt appreciation to her neighbors and caregiver Michelle along with Jaymlynn and Nicholas.
