Marcie Amick Bowyer

Marcie Alettia Amick Bowyer, 77, of Oak Hill, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 06, 2004 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV following a long illness. Born on March 13, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Albert Luther and Freda Virginia Tomlion Amick. Mrs. Bowyer was retired from the A&P Grocery Store, Oak Hill with 22 years service. She was a member of the Jones Avenue First Church of God, Oak Hill, WV. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Bowyer on October 21, 1980 and a brother, Ray Amick. Survivors include a son, Matthew G. Bowyer of Mount Hope; four daughters, Sharon Bowyer Fortney of Hyattsville, MD, Shelia Bowyer Natale of Burtonsville, MD, Martha Bowyer Siliris of Charleston, SC and Marsha Bowyer Moore, Oak Hill; brothers, Alvin Amick of Oak Hill and William Amick of Thailand; sisters, Drema "Cookie" Barton of Phoenix, AZ and Anna Barton of Oak Hill. The loves of her life were her four grandchildren, Tim Ramsey, Susan Wakefiled, Brittani Moore and Travis McCoy and four great grandchildren, Robert England, Kay-Lea England, Jace Ramsey and T.J. Ramsey. Marcie is also survivied by many other loving family members and friends. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Sunday, May 9, 2004, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A celebration of Marcie's life will be held on Sunday, May 9, 2004, at 2:00 pm at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Pat Franklin and Rev. Darrell Prater officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill, WV.
