Major Earnest Johnson, 83, of Fayetteville, WV died on Friday, April 28, 2006 at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born May 21, 1922 at Oak Hill, WV he was the son of the late Major Gwinn and Maude Estelle Stinnett Johnson. Mr. Johnson was the retired owner of Johnson Construction Company. He was a World War II US Navy veteran and a member of the VFW Post #3110, Oak Hill. Survivors include wife, Frances Hackney Johnson; one son, E. Pete Johnson and wife, Teresa, of Fayetteville; one brother, Bernard Johnson of Oak Hill; one sister, Catherine Ingles of Oak Hill; two grandchildren, Laura Blake and husband, Bill, of Culloden, WV and Michael Johnson and wife, Mollie, of Fayetteville and three great grandchildren, Hannah, Maddie and Jillie. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Sunday, April 30, 2006, from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Services will be on Monday, May 1, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Alvie Edwards and Rev. Bill Withers officiating. Entombment will be at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill WV with military graveside rites by VFW Post #3110, Oak Hill.
