Mable M. Dixon Bennett

Mable Marie Dixon Bennett, 91, of Oak Hill, WV died on Tuesday, October 02, 2012 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. Born May 16, 1921 at Minden, WV she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Mattie Tatum Dixon. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Bennett was a member of the Oak Hill First Presbyterian Church. She was a 1940 graduate of Oak Hill High School. The family would like to thank the staff at Hidden Valley Nursing and Rehab Center in Oak Hill and Bowers Hospice House in Beckley for the care they provided Mable. Her husband, Wallace R. Bennett, Sr., two sons, Dr. Barry R. Bennett and Wallace R."Cabby" Bennett, Jr. and three brothers, Robert Dixon, William Dixon, and Clifford Dixon preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, Robert E. Blackburn and wife, Loretta of Fayetteville, one daughter, Janice Bennett of Oak Hill, a daughter-in-law, Anna Bennett of Oak Hill; two grandchildren, Wallace R. "Ross" Bennett, III and Sarah Beth Bennett Powers, and four great grandchildren, Grace Bennett, Bryson Powers, Abby Bennett and Elijah Bennett. Funeral services will be on October 5, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Pastor Harry Fuller officiating. Entombment will be at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
