Geneva M. Welch

Geneva Mae Welch, 80, of Mount Hope, WV died on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born June 18, 1927 at Mount Hope, WV she was the daughter of the late Emory and Betha Plumley Bennett. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. "Bill" Welch; daughter, Jane Welch Wingrove; brother, Donald Bennett and a sister, Velda Cochran. Survivors include daughter, Brenda Welch Kirby of Lake Wiley, SC; two sons, William "Willy" Welch of Piney View and David Lee Welch of Mount Hope; one stepson, Earl "Tommy" Welch of Union Beach, NJ and one sister, Irma Wooddell of Bradley. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Aaron Welch, Dwane Kessinger and Kathy Kessinger-Overman and four great grandchildren Services will be on Sunday, February 17, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope with Rev. George Wood officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity WV. Friends may call one hour prior to the service Sunday at the funeral home. Dwane Kessinger, Aaron Welch, Leslie Dean Hatcher and Eric Hughart will serve as pallbearers.
