Luther Harvey Forren , 90, of Garten, WV went to be with his Lord on Friday, January 07, 2011 at Fayette Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Fayetteville, WV following a long illness. Born August 22, 1920 at Alderson, WV he was the son of the late Harvey and Minnie Rutherford Forren. He was of the Pentecostal faith. Mr. Forren was a retired coal miner having been employed by Flat Top Coal and King Collieries and was also a carpenter. He was a member of the U.M.W.A. A World War II veteran, he served gallantly for his country in the US Army. He participated in the Battle of the Bulge. His oldest son, Luther Dewayne Forren, three brothers, Oscar Forren, James Forren and Ed Forren and three sisters, Fanny Forren, Mary Forren and Elsie Forren preceded him in death. Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Catherine Deal Forren, two sons, Aaron Dale Forren of Fayetteville and Samuel Harvey Forren of Oak Hill and a sister, Nancy Graham of Fredricksburg, VA. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Anna Forren, Amy Forren, Jonathan Forren, Teddy Forren, Robbie Forren and Michael Forren and three great grandchildren. Services will be on Friday, January 14, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Minister Ken Overdorf officiating and military rites by Oak Hill VFW Post #3110.
