Louise Lohman Jackson

Louise Marie Lohman Jackson , 97, of Oak Hill, WV died on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV.

Born September 27, 1917 at Prudence, WV she was the daughter of the late George and Mollie Shepherd Lohman.

Louise began nurses training in 1936 at the Coal Valley Hospital in Montgomery and graduated in 1939 after it was renamed Laird Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and a member of the Laird Memorial Hospital Nursing Alumni Association.

She was a registered nurse who had worked at Oak Hill Hospital and later at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley from which she retired with 21 years service as Head Nurse on the Medical Floor.

Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Harvey Methodist Church, attended the Oak Hill Baptist Church and the Shirley Donnelly Sunday school class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Jackson; sisters and brothers in law, Mollie and Donald Payne, Georgia Mae and Frank Payne, and infant brother, Charles Lohman.

Survivors include one son, George William Jackson and wife, Rosanne of Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Keith Walker and wife, Donna of Oceana and Harold David Walker and wife, Joann of Charleston; sister, Charlotte Gay Richardson and husband, Jim of Kopperston.

Also surviving are three grandchildren, Frank Eli Jackson and wife, Brittany, Tara Rosanne Ivey and husband David and Christina Marie Jackson; former granddaughter in law, Kathy Jackson; four great grandchildren, Kaylee Ivy, Sean Ivy, Bradley Dixon and Emma Jackson

Funeral services will be on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. David Sneed officiating. Entombment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
