Lou Williams

Carnella Lou Williams, 77, of Artie, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at the Bowers Hospice House, Beckley.

Born June 4, 1946, at Charleston, she was the daughter of the late Charles Henry and Macie (Griffith) Wriston.

Lou was a homemaker and a proud and active member of the Artie Church of God. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and also enjoyed cooking.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Buford Williams; two sisters, Nettie Wriston and Violet Stover; and her close cousin, Sharon Kay Williams.

Those left to cherish her memory include her three daughters, Kathy Williams of Christiansburg, VA, Trina Williams and her husband, Stephen of Artie, and Yolanda Collins and her husband, Jackie of Beckley; three sons, Owen Williams and his wife, Marsha of Artie, Aaron Williams of Artie, and Brandon Williams and his wife, Lindsay of Crab Orchard; Fourteen grandchildren, Kayla Scott, Alisha Dunbar, Olivia Jennelle, Veronica and Maci Williams, Latosha Williams, Kaydence Williams, Zach Williams, Charlotte Williams, Jimmy, Richard, April Williams of Beckley, Mary Williams, and a grandchild on the way Everleigh Williams due in February 2024; thirteen great grandchildren; one sister, Trilby Burgess of Michigan; and one brother, Jackie Wriston of Cleveland, Ohio.

Services will be 12 Noon, Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope with Rev. Jerry Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.

Friends may call one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
