Lola Mae Harper Morris, 95, 0f Oak Hill died Friday, April 5, 2013 at her residence following a short illness. Born at Decota, WV on January 18, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Van and Dora Stanley Harper. She was also preceded in death by her husband Earnie W. Morris: infant children Geraldine Faye and Eric Wayne: step-son Lloyd Morris; brother Alva Harper and sisters, Fleda Davis, Bleka Profitt, Delphia Spencer, Leona Rose and Arlene Batton. Mrs. Morris was a homemaker and attended Jones Avenue Church of God, Oak Hill, WV since 1981. She was an avid reader and was known for her card ministry. Survivors include five daughters, Gloria Ernestine Meadows and husband Pat of Oak Hill, Carolyn Yvonne Clark and husband Harold of Bramwell, WV, Gwendolyn Kay Nelson and husband Gary of Oak Hill, Judy Raye Alexander and husband Walter of Oak Hill, Stephanie Lynn Scarbro and husband Berkley of Oak Hill; one sister Bernice Sampson of Radford, VA. and nine grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren,five great-great grandchildren. She had a host of nieces and nephews, caregiver Marilyn Mullins and special friend, Diana Janney. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. At Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, WV. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill, with Rev Ralph Shupe, Rev. Richard Bradley and Rev. Michael Meadows officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, April 8, 2013 from 6 til 8p.m. Pallbearers will be grandsons; Rev. Michael Meadows, Eric K. Clark, Walter Alexander II., Brian Meadows, Christopher Nelson and Jeremy Scarbro. Honorary pallbearers will be great grandsons; Walter Alexander III, Chase Faircloth, Keith Clark and Nick Clark.
