Lloyd L. Marcum

Lloyd L. Marcum , 74, of Marietta, OH formerly of Oak Hill, WV went home to be with Jesus on Monday, April 19, 2010 at his home. Born January 11, 1936 at Williamson, WV he was the son of the late William Riley Marcum and Beatrice Phillips Marcum Blankenship and stepson of the late Martha Mary Hifner Marcum. Lloyd was a retired coal miner. He was a survivor of the 1966 Siltex Mine Explosion. First wife, Shelby Jean Farris Marcum and brothers, William Riley Marcum, Jr., Robert Gene "Bob" Marcum and Raymond Edward Marcum preceded him in death. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Juanita Bailey Marcum; three daughters, Theresa Elder and husband, Dennis of Oak Hill, Rhonda Hoover and husband, Donald of Oak Hill and Heather Rex and husband, J.W. of Beverly, OH; brothers, Charles Douglas Marcum, Carl Alvin Marcum both of Columbus, OH and sisters, Shirley Ann Starkey of Columbus and Betty Jo Michael of Thomasville, NC; four grandchildren, Mathew Elder, Andrew Elder, Shaun Smith and Jackie Smith; great grandchildren, Trenton Rex and Christasha Smith and two soon to be born Hayleigh Elder and Skyler John Rex; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Graveside rites and committal services will be on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Oak Hill. with Rev. Rudell Bloomfield, Rev. Junior Calvert and Pastor Sam Calloway, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation. Eugene McClung, Dennis Elder, Donald Hoover, Shaun Smith, J.W.
