Lloyd Howard Hicks, 70, of White Sulphur Springs, WV formerly of Oak Hill, WV died on Sunday, April 01, 2007 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Ronceverte, WV. Born June 13, 1936 at Milburn, WV he was the son of the late Landford and Cinda M. Hazlett Hicks. He was a retired shuttle car operator for Central Appalachian Coal at Morris Creek. Mr. Hicks attended the Neola Baptist Church, White Sulphur Springs, WV and was a member of the UMWA District 17. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Mae Altice Hicks on Jan 26, 2003 and a son, Robert Eugene Altice. Survivors include three sons, James Hicks of Oak Hill, WV, Lloyd L. Hicks of Oak Hill, WV and Gary Hicks of Charleston, WV; four daughters, Rose Vance of Fayetteville, WV, Mary Waid of White Sulphur Springs, WV, Kathy Higginbotham of Fayetteville, WV and Patricia Cantrail of Ohio; one brother, Lawrence Hicks of Oak Hill, WV; one sister, Wanda Perry of Oak Hill, WV; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home on Friday, April 6, 2007 from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Services will be on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Paul Basham officiating. Burial will be at Turley Cemetery, Pea Ridge Road, Oak Hill WV. Michael Waid, Dallas Vance, Jr, Robert Waid, Mark Perry, Billy Hoke and Hank Hicks will serve as pallbearers.
