Lillian Mae Phillips, 93, of Oak Hill, passed away at her home on Monday, December 30, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Born October 24, 1931, at Minden, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Fannie (Grandetti) Vegh.
She was a 1949 graduate of Oak Hill School. She was the office manager at G.C. Murphy Co. for several years until her wedding in 1954. She later retired from Arbuckle Public Service. After retirement, her grandchildren and later great grandchildren became her center of attention. She loved to spend time with her nieces and nephews. Her favorite activities included bowling, playing board games with the family, playing pinochle, and making crafts, but most of all she loved her IPAD and FB.
She was a member of the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, her high school sweetheart, Carl E. Phillips; sisters, Margaret Vegh, Helen (Pete) Saplak, Elizabeth (Buster) Crone, Edith (Frank) Bowling; and brothers, Andrew (Ruth) Vegh, Jr., John (Mickey) Vegh, and Andy Bodnar.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Edie (Johnny) Davis, grandchildren, Joshua (Amanda) Davis, Heather (Jeremy) Pack; great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Maxx Davis; along with many nieces and nephews.
Rites of Christian burial will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill with Rev. Rene’ Gerona officiating. Entombment will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park.
Friends may call one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Maxx Davis, Joshua Davis, Jason Russell, Rodney Woodson, Matt Diederich, and Mark Bass.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV 25801.
