Lillian Lawson

A Fayette County resident for most of her first 40 years, Lillian G. Godbey Lawson, 86, of Jacksonville, FL died on Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. Born June 14, 1920 at Williamsburg, WV she was the daughter of the late H.B. and Mary Ellen Davis Godbey. She was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith. Her husband Albert Lawson preceded her in death in July 1991. Survivors include her children, L. Sylvia Allen of Oak Hill, WV; Les Lawson or Orange Park, FL; Bob Lawson of Waycross, GA; Gerald Lawson of Orange Park, FL and Alvin Lawson of Hudson, FL. Also surviving are a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. There will be no visitation. Committal service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 25, 2006 at the High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill with Dr. John Sauvage officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum. In lieu of flowers the family asks that any rememberances of Mrs. Lawson be made in the form of gifts to their own church or favorite charity.
