Lewis Alonso Pogorelski, 81, of Oak Hill, WV died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014 at CAMC Memorial in Charleston, WV. Born Sept. 21, 1932 at Whipple, he was the son of the late Antoni and Josephine Pogorelski. Mr. Pogorelski proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. He retired from Cranberry Lumber. He was a faithful member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Oak Hill. Mr. "Pogo" was an avid supporter of the Oak Hill Red Devils and enjoyed watching many sporting events. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his six sisters, Anta Hydella, Virginia Casey, Pauline Janisewski, Rose Wojtowicz, Josephine Fiorelli and Elizabeth Burden. Survivors include his wife, Joleta Pogorelski of Oak Hill; his four children, Lisa Pogorelski of Oak Hill, Walter Pogorelski of Rapid City, SD, Toni Pogorelski of Scarbro, and Kelli Casimir of Falling Waters, WV; five grandchildren, Samuel, Aaron and Antoni Pogorelski and Madison and Maegan Casimir; and one great-grandchild, Zariah Pogorelski. A memorial service to celebrate Mr. Pogorelski's life will be held Saturday, Feb. 22 at 3:00pm at Tyree Funeral Home with Father Carlos Melocoton officiating. Online condolences may be sent at
