Leslie Howard Davis, Sr.

Leslie Howard Davis, Sr., age 61, of Maple Fork Road, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at CAMC General Division, Charleston, WV surrounded by his family. Born May 12, 1951, he was the son of Lockie Worrell Davis of Hill Top, WV and the late Howard (Tine) Davis. Mr. Davis was a retired miner and a member of the United Mine Workers of American. He loved the outdoor and was always lending a helping hand to others. He enjoyed having lunch with or just sitting and talking with all his Mount Hope buddies. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Davis and by a brother-in-law, Joe Bair. But more than anything else, he loved and enjoyed his grandchildren , Kendal, Kamryn, Ethan, Caden and his soon to be grandson, Evan. They were the love of his life. Survivors in addition to his mother and grandchildren, include his wife of 38 years, Doretta Davis, his son Leslie Howard Davis, Jr. and wife Tracy of Beckley, his daughter, Kimberly Sharp and her husband Patrick of Fayetteville, WV. ; two sisters, Kay Bair and Karen Bragg and husband Rick, four brothers, Eddie Davis and wife Leatha, Buck Davis and wife Nellie, Rick Davis and wife Patty and Rob Davis and wife Mary. Also surviving is a very special aunt, Dorothy Mae Ellison. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday,March 18, 2013 at the Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope with Rev. Jerry Tyree officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services on Monday, March 18, 2013. Following funeral services a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Maple Fork Baptist Church on Maple Fork Road. Arrangements by Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope, WV.
