Lena Ann Smith

Our loving mother and the best grandmother in the world, Lena Ann Copley Smith, 83 of Oak Hill, WV died on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born November 05, 1926 at Ansted, WV she was the daughter of the late George and Minnie Moody Copley. She was a a retired nursing assistant for Oak Hill Hospital and a homemaker. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene. Her husband, Carlos Smith and a sister, Lilly Lowery preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, Carlos Melvin Smith and wife, Beth of Oak Hill; two daughters, Pamala Vance of Beckley and Kay Persinger and husband, James of Oak Hill; one sister, Mabel McCarraher of Oak Hill and brothers, Jim Copley of Pea Ridge, Tom Copley of Oak Hill and George Copley of Arkansas. She is also survived by eight loving grandchildren, Tonya Ombler, Michael Smith, Melani Hylton and husband, Mike, Tiffany Bess, James Persinger, II and wife, Sandra, Eric Persinger, Lisa Hogan and husband, Jimmy and Teresa Hendrick and her husband Chris; grandson-in-law, Brian Ombler and fourteen great grandchildren, Dustin Smith, Aaron Ombler, Kelsey Blevins, Morgan Hylton, Ryan Persinger, Samantha DeLean and husband, Jonathan, Amanda Persinger, Erica Hogan, Jamie Hogan, Malerie Hendrick, Hillary Hendrick, Meagan Hendrick, Dylan Feducovich and Bailey Persinger. Services will be on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jerry Bush officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM and on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church. James Persinger, Eric Persinger, Michael Smith, Mike Hylton, James Hogan and Ryan Persinger will serve as pallbearers.
