Lena C. Dillon

Lena Cody Dillon, 91, of Florence, Alabama, formerly of Mount Hope, WV passed away, May 16, 2008. She had been a resident of Somerby Assisted Living for six years. She was retired from the Fayette County Board of Education as a Guidance Counselor at Mount Hope High School. A resident of Mount Hope for over 60 years, she graduated from Mount Hope High School, received her B. S. Degree from Morris Harvey College (now University of Charleston), and her Master's Degree from Marshall University. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil B. Dillon; her parents, George W. and Annie Hinte Cody; brother, Carl Cody; sisters, Elsie Burgess, Irene Burnett, and Gladys Roop. Lena is survived by a son, V. A. Duke Dillon and wife, Patricia M.; grandchildren, Leigh Ann More and husband, Russell, Linda Pope and husband, Trent; great-grandchildren, Dillon More, John Patrick More, Chase Pope, and Wyatt Pope. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM Monday, May 19, 2008 at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Arrangements by Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope.
