Lear Rhealda (Ford) Summerell

Lear Rhealda (Ford) Summerell, 73, of Beckley WV passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.

Born December 12, 1951 in Pemberton, WV she was the daughter of the late Burton and June (Wiles) Ford.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Howard Summerell; brothers, Charlie Ford and Burton Ford, Jr.; and  son-in-law, Brian R. Meredith.

Survivors include daughter, Rebecca (Becky) Meredith (Danny and Tyler Painter) of Pax, WV.; son, Edward Summerell of Maryland; sister, Melinda (Fay) and Glen Cunningham of Falling Waters, WV; brothers, Rev. James Ford and Henry Ford of Beckley, WV; grandchildren, Brianna Meredith, William, Anna, and Dorian Summerell; and several nieces and nephews.

Lear worked for the FBI/ Government. Lear was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed traveling overseas with her husband and kids. She loved painting, reading, mystery novels, and spending time with her granddaughter Brianna. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

As requested cremation will be cared for by Tyree Funeral Home.
