Lawrence Marvin "Larry" Beverley, Sr., 77, of Mount Hope, WV died on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV. Born September 14, 1935 at Kilsyth, WV, he was a son of the late Marvin Hubert and Myrl Inez Turner Beverley. He was a retired school bus driver from the Fayette County Board of Education after 34 years of service. He was also a retired Mount Hope businessman, being associated with his father at Beverley and Beverley Grocery and owned Larry's Bargain Box. Larry was a faithful member of Mount Hope Christian Church. He was a former city councilman in Mount Hope and served for a short time on the Mount Hope Housing Authority. He was a member of the West Virginia Association of Retired School Employees. At one time he served as Co-Chairman of the Boy Scouts in Mount Hope; was a former member and Vice President of Mount Hope Lions Club; and a member of the National Rifle Association. He was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Beverley Smith. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann "Pat" Haley Beverley; one son, Lawrence Marvin Beverley, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia; one sister, Patti Beverley Barton and her husband, Dan of Fayetteville; one niece, Beverly Jean Smith Moye of Ona; one great-nephew, Hunter Shockey of Ona; a brother-in-law, Jack Smith of Hico; and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Haley of Hinton. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Monday, November 26, 2012 at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Minister Dennis Kinzer and Father Paul Yuenger officiating. Entombment will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P. M. Sunday at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope. Pallbearers will be Ken Maynor, George Smith, Jr., Jim Helton, Page Humphrey, Jr., Thomas Brown and David Moye. Donations of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, P. O.
