Laura Wilma Lucas Lilly

Laura Wilma Lucas Lilly. age 89 of Fayetteville , went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday morning April 12, 2013 at the Fayette Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Fayetteville .   Laura was born on April 9, 1924 in Beaver and was the daughter of the late John Henry and Malinda Stewart Lucas.   Laura was a homemaker who loved working on their 10 acre farm on Salem Road .  She was an avid gardener and one of the best dahlia growers in the state.  She was a member of Loup Creek Baptist Church at Wriston.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin C. Lilly of Salem Road and six sisters, Virgie Lucas, Pearl Watson, Hazel Johnson, Marie Forinash, Ann Lester, Mary Magdeline Meadows and a brother Buster Lucas.   Those survivors left to cherish her memory are four sons, Gary C. Lilly and wife, Nancy of Gatewood; Jerry Wayne Lilly and wife, Delores of Fayetteville; Norman Lilly of Fayetteville and Charles "Chuck" Lilly and wife, Rebecca of Oak Hill.   Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.   The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Scott Keffer and the staff at Fayette Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for their special care given to our mother while a resident there.   Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Mark Wood officiating.  Friends may call on Sunday evening, April 14, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill.   Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
