Laura L. Cales Gill

Laura Louise Cales Gill , 88, of Oak Hill, WV died on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. Born September 17, 1923 at Logan County, WV she was the daughter of the late Fred P. and Mallissia Dean Cales. Mrs. Gill was a homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Laura was affectionately known as "Toots" by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Gill, two sons, Bruce Arthur Gill and James Frederick Gill, grandson, Jeffery McGraw, great grandson, William Robinson, four sisters, Lillian Lockett, Gladys Mitchell, Nora Perry and Marian Long, and three brothers, J.W. Cales, Fred (Jr) Cales and Roy Lee Cales. Laura is survived by her loving family: daughters, Beverly (Mike) Ellis of Oak Hill and with whom she resided, Betty Presock of Lakewood, OH and Pat (Jon) Cottle Thomas of Mesa, AZ, son, Charles Wayne Cales and compaion, Donna of Grayson, KY, and brothers, Chester (Naomi) Cales of Hilliard, OH, Dewey (Mildred) Cales of Lancaster, OH and Ronald Cales of Ravenna, OH. She is also survived by twenty one grandchildren, forty one great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. Graveside rites and committal service will be on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill with Rev. Robert Pauley officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill on Monday, May 28, 2012 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. The family would like to thank the staff of Bowers Hospice House for the care they provided during her stay at home and at their facility.
