Larry Swanigan

Larry Wayne Swanigan, 64, of Oak Hill, WV died on Saturday, June 14, 2003 at VA Medical Center in Salem, VA. Born November 7, 1938 at Lochgelly, WV he was the son of Roscoe C. and Ruby Runion Swanigan of Oak Hill. He was a Building Contractor in West Virginia and South Carolina. Most recently Mr. Swanigan attended the Fellowship Memorial Baptist Church in Oak Hill. He served as a Staff Sargent with the US Army during the Berlin Crisis and was a member of the WV National Guard for many years. Survivors include Sons, Michael Swanigan of Alexandria, VA and David Swanigan of Charleston, SC and their mother, Carolyn Flint Swanigan of Charleston, SC. Brothers, Gary Swanigan of Manassas, VA; Jerry Swanigan of Colorado Springs, CO; Danny Swanigan of Warrenton, VA and John Lynn Knotts of Lindside, WV Sisters, Judy Butler of Colorado Springs, CO; Hazel Hinlsey of Frederick, MD; Sandra McKinney of Oak Hill and Rita Bassnett of Culpepper, VA Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Tuesday, June 17, 2003 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Funeral services will be private.
