Larry Norman Scarbro, 73 of Carlisle, WV departed this life on Friday, December 24, 2010 at CAMC General Division in Charleston after a short illness. Born August 9, 1937 at Kingston, Fayette County, WV, he was the son of the late Mavin K. and Bessie Mae Wriston Scarbro. Larry attended grade school and high school at Kingston, graduating in 1957. Upon graduation he entered the US Army, serving 3 years with a tour of duty in Korea. After discharge from the military he lived many years in Falls Church, VA and worked as a construction worker. Upon retiring he returned to Fayette County to live. Larry was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Dayton Scarbro, by his paternal grandparents, Lorenzo Dow Scarbro and Gertrude Webb Scarbro and by his maternal grandparents, William Robert Wriston and Martha Stover Wriston of Mossy, WV. Surviving are his sister, Judith Kay Scarbro Lively and her husband Roma of Dothan, WV; two nephews, Randy Lively of Dothan, WV and Jeffrey A. Lively and his wife Bonnie of Oak Hill; a great nephew, Judah A. Lively of Oak Hill and many cousins and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with Rev. Richard Barker officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill where military graveside rites will be conducted by Oak Hill VFW Post 3110.
