Larry Eugene Derringer, Sr., age 69 of Prudence, passed away on Thursday, August 16. 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Born March 10, 1949 at Herndon, WV, he was the son of the late Eugene and Pauline Green Derringer.
Larry was a self employed roofer and also worked for Master Roofing Systems. He was a member of the Old Grove Baptist Church at Crab Orchard. He was a veteran having served three tours of duty in Vietnam with the US Army.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandchildren Brandon Garden, Christopher Canterbury and Jacob Underwood by brothers, Preston Derringer and Charles David Derringer and by a sister, Audrey Tomlin.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Cindy Lou Daniel Derringer, his children, Trina Ann Derringer, Larry Eugene Derringer, Jr. and wife Amanda of Beaver, Mary Beth McMillion and husband Donald of Beckely, Eugene Preston Derringer and wife Christina of Thayer, Natasha Bennett of Oak Hill, Loren Drew Derringer and wife Shannon of Oak Hill, Sesta Martin and husband Mike of Daniels, Betty Browning and husband Bryan of Crab Orchard, Christina Lukach of Oak Hill, Julie Ray of Oak Hill, Jenifer Daniel of Beckley, Kristina Smith of Beckley, Samantha Workman and husband Bruce of Oak Hill, Brian Smith of Oak Hill; his brothers and sisters, Eddie Derringer of Mabscott, Randall Derringer and wife Missy of Maple Fork, Drucella Wiley and husband Tim of Grandview, Sherri Bolen and husband Larry of Spencer; a sister-in-law, Janie Derringer of Maple Fork. Also surviving are numerous grandchilden and great grandchilden.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, August 20, 2018 at the Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with Pastor Ron Miller officiating. Entombment will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with military honor following the committal service.
Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services on Monday.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
