Kitty Mcmillion Bryan

Kitty Mae McMillion Bryan, age 97, transitioned from this life on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Greystone Villages in Beaver, WV.

She was born on June 27, 1917 in Gilboa, WV to the late Florence Grose and Clarence McMillion.

Kitty is survived by her husband, Ambrose, of 73 years; children: Rowena Farrar, George (Deborah Jackson) and Gerald Bryan; grandchildren: Andrea Thompson St.Amand (Kalev Kruuk) and Kristina Bryan Ulloa (Gonzales and his three sons) and her children (Amanda, Evan, Annalise and Samantha Jackson); close nieces: Cynthia Bryan Canterbury (Larry), Grace Bryan Bowen (Bruce), and Loretta Duling Simpkins (Jim); and other beloved relatives and friends.

Her focus in life was family, church and friends. She was the epitome of love, and maintained her joy of living and quick wit throughout life. She was an active member of the Oak Hill United Methodist Church, including the Rebecca Bible Class and 3 F’s, and previously belonged to Senior Citizens and the Minden Reunion Planning Committee. She enjoyed quilting, crafting, flowers and people of all ages. Kitty was among the first “Rosie the Riveter” trainees during World War II.

Prior to death she was lovingly cared for by the staffs of The Summit at Hidden Valley in Oak Hill and at The Inn at Greystone Villages in Beaver, WV.

Funeral services will be on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Dr. Charles D. Miller and Rev. William Slates officiating. Interment will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Rebecca Bible Class of the Oak Hill United Methodist Church, 250 Main Street East, Oak Hill, WV 25901;the OHUMC Food Pantry, Union Mission (wefeedpeople.com), or the charity of your choice.
