Kenneth R. Underwood

Kenneth Ray Underwood, 67, of Oak Hill, WV died on Sunday, August 22, 2004 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV following a long illness. Born March 02, 1937 at Ramsey, WV he was the son of the late Clinton Ray and Tracie Stover Underwood. He was a retired truck driver for the Coal Mining Industry. He served in the US Air Force having attained the rank of Airman 3rd Class. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Harold, James and Charles Underwood. Survivors include wife, Edna Sue Hypes Underwood; sons: Steve Hypes of Oak Hill, Gary Underwood of Oak Hill and Kenneth Allen Underwood of Oak Hill and Clinton Underwood of Monroe, NC; daughters: Dora Susan Davis of Oak Hill and Cindy Gilliam of Oak Hill; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Wednesday, August 25, 2004 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Services will be on Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at 2:00 pm at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Ray McClung officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens,Oak Hill WV with military graveside rites by VFW Post #3110. Rocky Davis, Gary Underwood, Kenny Underwood, Clinton Underwood and Steve Hypes will serve as pallbearers.
