Kelly Ann Whittaker Atha, 34, of Oak Hill, WV died on Sunday, November 26, 2006 at CAMC - General Division in Charleston, WV as the result of injuries received Wednesday in an automobile accident. Born August 26, 1972 at Beckley, WV she was the daughter of Edward L. Whittaker and stepmother, Gail Whittaker of Fayetteville, WV and Barbara Ann Cales Backus and stepfather, Robert A. Backus of Oak Hill, WV. She was a Preschool Teacher for the Fayette County Early Childhood Development Center. Mrs. Atha was a member of the Spirit & Truth Ministries, Oak Hill, WV, where she was a "Believe" dance and drama minister, Sunday school treacher and invovled with the Ladies Ministry. Kelly was a Girl Scout Troop Leader and a Cheerleading Coach fo the Oak Hill Midget League. She attended the New River Technical School. . Survivors include her husband, Robert Lee "Bobby" Atha, III; three daughters, Ariel Irene, Miracle Joy and Destiny Leighann Atha all at home; one brother, Scott Edward Whittaker of Oak Hill and one step-brother, Scott Stover and wife, Cora. Also surviving are her mother and father-in-law, Donna and Roger Powers of Summerlee, WV; father and mother-in-law, Robert Lee and Susie Atha, Jr.of Victor; step grandmother, Betty Backus of Fayetteville, WV; sisters-in-law, Amy and Steve Yarber of Summerlee, Tovah and Kendyl Atha of Victor and Laura Powers of Summerlee; brother-in-law, Roger and Beth Powers of Edmond; special friends, Helen, Stacey and Judy and by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Spirit & Truth Ministries, 100 Main Street, Oak Hill, WV on Thursday, November 30, 2006 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Services will be on Thursday, November 30, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Spirit & Truth Ministries in Oak Hill with Pastor Sam R. Calloway, Jr. and Elders Floyd McNeely, Mark Williams and Steve Chambers officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill WV. Pallbearers wil be Sam R. Calloway, Jr., Steve Chambers, Floyd McNeely, Mark Williams, Julius Wittenberg and Stanley Blanks.
